QOL Mapping Service — Help

1. The main frame in the center of the window is the map view.

2. The frame on the left-hand side of the window is the "Toolbox". The Toolbox contains tools (buttons) which one can use to interact with the map frame.

3. The frame on the right-hand side of the window is the "Table of Contents". The Table of Contents contains the list of available geographic layers one can display and view in the map view.

4. The frame on the bottom of the window displays results from layer ID's queries, units settings, and distance measurements.

5. To make layers visible, check the visible box to the left of the layer name, then scroll to the bottom of the Table Of Contents, and press the Refresh Map button.

6. To interact with any of the layers to perform a query, buffer, etc., click the "Active" button to the left of the layer name.

7. After clicking the "Print" button, the user is prompted in the bottom frame to type in a tittle for the map layout. Once the create print page button is pressed, another window opens with the layout of the map that will be sent to the printer/plotter of choice. The layout contains the title, map view, overview map, and legend of map layers. The user can then go to file/print setup to select the appropriate settings/printer.

8. After zooming in to a certain extent, additional layers will appear in the Table Of Contents and are available to display upon clicking the Refresh Map button.
